Your music journey
in full bloom
We’re creating a safe space for aspiring and growing girl guitarists to flourish and bloom, building the kind of discipline and self-love that helps them shine far beyond the stage.

Shaping tomorrow's
girl guitarists
Our mission is to empower aspiring and growing girl guitarists ages 8-18 through innovative, well rounded, supportive learning experiences that help them find their unique voice and flourish within music and beyond.
Our Wildflower Approach centers around innovative guitar learning with the visual learner in mind. Through creatively driven workshops, we cover everything from guitar basics to advanced guitar, songwriting, the art of music business, and artist development for today's music creative.
We also infuse arts and crafts and visual art into our curriculum to engage our girls in a practical form of learning the concepts in a colorful way that lands.

Meet our Founder
The guitar is a beautiful and healing instrument that helped me to discover my voice as a young artist, and is still such a powerful canvas for my creative expression even today.
My greatest wish for Girls & Guitar's Guitar Garden is that the next generation of girl guitarists will feel empowered and equipped to achieve anything, both within and outside of a career in music.
Kyla Simone, Founder & CEO
Kyla Simone is an acoustic soul singer-songwriter and multi-creative who had a vision in 2016 to amplify the talent of women singer-songwriters, especially women of color, who shared a passion for playing the guitar. Girls & Guitars started out hosting on-going live music showcases that feature an all-woman cast of talent, giving them a safe space to shine and cultivate their talents. We then expanded to host workshops and during the pandemic we took to Instagram to host our concert series virtually.
With the help of some amazing partnerships and supporters, Girls & Guitars has hosted over 50 events 5 states and has also built a unique and supportive community and network of talent. While we are still hosting our showcases for our adult women, we are strategically pivoting to focus our attention on building an impactful non-profit organization to help shape young, budding girl guitarists ages 8-12, providing mentorship and tools to help them thrive in the landscape of music and beyond.
"This is the mentorship I wish I had growing up. It's now my mission to ensure every girl who desires to play this beautiful instrument has the resources and support, despite life circumstances." - Kyla
